chili con carne
(see. that was quick, eh?)
On the ther news: we are having a chili con carne here, -one that should prove quite delicious. (it’s still in the works, like a good chili should be. permanently, that is, you see?)
just look at the ingredients: roughly one and a half kilograms of finest argentinian beef sirloin, cut to nice little cubes, lots of red onions, tomato passé and essence, BEER,...
oh yes, and also...
Happy New Year, ye arse (and a successful one, too).
see you over there (as long as i do not get the posting flash before midnight. which might be quite likely.)

sleep
now its me, who fucked up his sleep cycle. just got up at 5 pm. and i wanted to do some things today.
opera + del.icio.us
my prayers petitions gripes have been heard. it works like a charm (and somehow to me, it looks even better than the firefox-thing. but that may be because i find the native opera style quite nifty.)
yet another reason to drop firefox. well, admittedly: let’s see, how opera behaves with 200+ tabs open.
opera
oh and by the way: this would be the second post made with Opera, -because Firefox managed to piss me off sufficiently by completely fucking up my internet access. again.
learning to DJ by the book
despite the fact that i don’t dj anymore (if you can call what i did DJing…), this book still tremendously interests me.
cold
it finally happened. obviously one can’t get through winter without catching a cold.
i think there are few thing i hate more. bugger.
on lightboxes
lightboxes are an immensely valuable tool for an illustrator. sadly, they have some drawbacks: the are big, ugly and most of all pricey. very pricey.
examples: the professional solutions, standalone. and the sexy, slim, sustainable solution, which would be perfect for me for reasons of space. (look at the prices…the smallest size would be affordable, but i would have to specialize in...

ramblingambulance:
Ever asked yourself or someone else “what’s the harm in alternative medicine”? Get a whiff of this.
OH. SHIT.
that just made my day. and made me want (again) to beat the everliving crap out of these people. not that that would help anyways. but thinking about it makes me feel better.
the acid in my stomach is boiling now.
in love with type: Mundo Sans
just made the “mistake” following a link to the monotype website, where i found the Mundo Sans by Carl Crossgrove. love on first sight. its extra-light weight would fit perfectly some other super-secret project of mine….
play around with it here, specimen-PDF can be found here.
firefox. again.
FUCK YOU. that (unauthorized, i might add) update just crashed my computer. in the middle of the night, while i was …away.
i sincerely wish (but my programming skills are somewhat rusty, read: nonexistent) i could solve it myself, but: couldn’t the blokes of Opera find some magic way to make Firefox-extensions work in Opera? i would so immediately uninstall firefox.
customers = scripted trouble
not only obviously too dumb to make a money transfer, but also they refuse to solve the affair the good old fashioned way: with cash. reason: “we don’t do that.” (actually, -if i remember correctly-, that is a more or less accurate qoute by Kafka)
right. it has always bee better to let someone starve than to change your grown habits.

i think, i learned more about photoshop in the last three days than in the last three years.

cutting
i am deeply fascinated by the sensations that the process of cutting something (be it paper, wood, meat or onions) apart with a well sharpened knife evokes.
